Late Shri Vilas Chaphekar

Late Shri. Vilas Chaphekar was active in the field of social service, transforming himself from a Professor; to bring about positive changes in the life of deprived people in neglected sectors of the society.

He started social work much early in his life (at the age of 17). Worked extensively among students, street children, children of sex workers for non-formal education in slum areas.

He was active in various areas of social work namely Education, Healthcare, Economic upliftment of Landless labourers , Nomads etc.

EDUCATION :

PhD: Pune University (Education science: Comparative studies of education -various countries), 1977. Thesis completed but thesis was not presented.
M.Ed. : Pune University, May 1971.
M.A.(Hindi ): Mumbai University, April 1966 – with Gold Medal
