Janeev Sanghatana,  established in the year 1982, was the culmination of relentless work put in by Shri Vilas Chaphekar for  15 years, in various areas concerning the welfare of  the deprived class of society; in various parts of Maharashtra. .

Janeev (meaning – Awareness) is a movement aimed at  achieving complete social transformation through improvement  in economic, educational, social and cultural value systems.

Janeev strives to bring about  change through constructive work and organized efforts by dedicated volunteers . The focus is on  abolition of economic inequality ;  AND thrust on gender / caste equality, environmental protection and population control.
